Welcome to the Edenham Benefice

We are an ancient but living Christian community here in the Edenham Benefice. Our roots go back to the Saxon Minster, but the church now serves a very mixed community set on the Grimsthorpe Estate. We are a community of all ages who worship together. We offer a warm welcome to visitors.

We serve the Hamlets of Edenham, Grimsthorpe, Elsthorpe, and Scottlethorpe. The Vicarage serves as the regional house retreat centre.

The worship of our churches expresses the richness of the tradition of the Anglican Church.

St Mary's Church, Swinstead
St Mary's stands at the heart of this beautiful stone-built village. The life of the church is integral to the life of the whole community. Not only in the marking of seasons of the year but also in the key moments in the lives of families and neighbours.
